GI Actuarial Manager – London Market

Who are we?

Bruin as a wider business is well established within the financial services, banking, asset management and insurance spaces having been founded in 2010 and going from strength to strength since. People are at the core of our business and this is something integral to our growth and day-to-day operations, you can find out more at - https://www.bebruin.com/

Bruin’s General Insurance Actuarial & Analytics team was formed in August 2020 and has already proven to be one of Bruin’s most successful and highest growth areas within the business. We are currently a team of 4 covering London Market Actuarial, Personal Lines Pricing/Actuarial and General Insurance Analytics – we’re now looking to grow considerably over the coming year due to the rapid expansion of our client base in these areas.

The role

We’re looking for an experienced individual with a background in the London Market/Reinsurance GI Actuarial space to join and lead our growth within this very niche space, leveraging our already considerable relationships to drive revenue as well developing new business. You’ll be managing and developing one (fantastic) Consultant with a view to growing the team over the coming year and as such, this would be an ideal role for either an experienced consultant looking to step up into managing their own team and function or likewise an experienced manager looking for a clear opportunity to lead a division.

Our client base includes a varied range of large insurers, reinsurers, brokers, syndicates and consultancies and whilst we are looking to continue to grow quickly within these areas – we pride ourselves on a commitment to delivery. With that in mind, you’ll have the support and guidance available to you (in the right proportions!) and the opportunity to set out your own growth plan, as well as the investment to make that happen.

What are we looking for?

  • Somebody highly driven and with an entrepreneurial mindset.

  • A supportive and collaborative individual – somebody with a natural desire to support colleagues in their success and growth (you can expect the same in return!).

  • Keen market interest and passion – we enjoy what we do and always strive to add value to our clients/candidates at every interaction.

  • A natural relationship builder, able to engage effectively at senior levels and drive new business.

  • Somebody not afraid to lead from the front from a delivery perspective, not only driving revenue personally but developing and coaching a growing team from a performance perspective.

What you can expect

  • A very clear remit and progression path to Associate Director level.

  • A supportive and flexible work culture, spending 1-2 days per week in our Central London or Manchester-based offices.

  • A business culture that emphasizes and encourages autonomy, responsibility and collaboration.

  • Access to our excellent commission and benefits package.

  • The support of the senior leadership team and ongoing investment by the business in bespoke training (at all levels).
